This week, Gifford Community Council trialled their new 'Soup and a Smile' delivery. Our volunteers delivered hot lentil soup, a buttered roll and a fruit scone - all made by Lanterne Rouge Legend Nicola Goddard - to households where there is an older resident living alone. It's one day a week where residents will have their lunch made for them. There's no charge.
The feedback is already very positive! If you know someone in the village who might benefit please contact chairgiffordcc@gmail.com with details and we can make contact with them directly.
We're so grateful to Nicola for her support for this, and to our first fabulous delivery team - Ailsa, Morven and Wendy!
Pic shows Ailsa (left) and Nic - both definitely smiling under the face coverings!
